Assumption of Risks statement

Backcountry skiing/riding activities happen in an uncontrolled environment. There are inherent risks and hazards associated with it. To help you better understand the level of risk based on your specific activity, we recommend you review the “Assumption of Risks” part of our waiver. Please have a discussion with your guide about the risks associated with your specific trip before you head out.

Our primary goal is for everybody to come home at the end of the day. Our guides are professionally trained and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and the Canadian Avalanche Association.

Prior to every trip, your guide will do the following:

  • Call you about the details of the trip the night before

  • Make a trip plan (duration, hazards, decision points, alternate options)

  • Check the current plus forecasted weather

  • Check current conditions and hazards (avalanche, snowpack, field and weather observations as well as current avalanche hazard) from nearest operators, neighbours, Parks Canada and Mountain Information Network

  • Fill out a pre trip and post trip hazard assessment form for the current objective
